I Always Thought I Had All The Patience in This Marriage

Okay, I am officially bored. I guess I figured I could catch up on
my bible reading, finish a couple of new books I purchased, and rest up from being kid-free. Well, no such luck. They have a rule at this hospital that when a patient dozes off for about 30 seconds, you need to come and bug them for something. I kid you not, we have literally sleep a total of 3 hours between the two of us in two nights. Skip was doing pretty well and getting his pain manageable, but he started having some problems with his heart rate. It was getting pretty high and his blood pressure was low. They figured out that he was very dehydrated and started pumping him up with fluids. His blood pressure is good, but now his blood count is low. They are about to give him a couple of units, and he should be feeling a lot better after that. He is able to sit up in a chair for about an hour at a time twice a day. It takes a lot of strength to help him get up but I know I can do it. I think both of us were not prepared for how serious this was going to be. Praise God he can do so much work from home when he is released. It is going to be a while before he is singing on stage at Bay Area Fellowship again. Once again, thanks to everyone for the prayers and emails.

Hip replacement surgery is pretty major. I helped my mother-in-law with her recovery. The first few days are rough but after that it starts getting better pretty quickly. And yes, sitting around a hospital room all day and night is really really boring. And the hospital is the last place anyone can get any rest. Hang in there.

Tiffany- I can't seem to email anyone from our laptop except through this blog. Sorry. Also Skip's work email is working on this laptop. Anyway thank you for your offer to help. We are not in Corpus because we couldn't find anyone comfortable who would do it there. We are in Austin and should be here a day or more. I'll call or write when we get home. Thanks buddy!

Barb- Thanks for the encouragement. I know God will get us through this. Skip's situation is a little different because he has a muscle weakness too. He is doing a little better each hour.

DeeDee- You got it right about devotional topics from this. Actually I am getting a lot of song lyrics too. Who knows?
