We're MOVING!!!

No, we still have not sold the house. We are, however, moving into a rent house in Victoria sometime within the next week. I have prayed, waited, and cried so many times these past 11 months and now, finally the wait is over. Skip has had enough. We are blessed with a four bedroom home in exactly the same neighborhood that we lived in previously 9 years ago. It is going to be a little smaller living space, but this smile on my face right now is bigger than it's been in a very long time. I have so much to do in so little time, but I have three able-bodied children to help me. I think it is going to be a school holiday for a few days, or else I will go mad. Will some home school mom comment and let me know that this is okay to do? I am so worried about taking time off, when no one really cares or is checking up on me. I know you veteran home schoolers are shouting, "Rookie!" Anyway, thank you for your prayers, and please continue to cover my house in prayers. We had another showing today! Yay!

BTW- How bout them Cowboys last night! My neighbors probably were close to calling the authorities what with all the screaming and hollering going on in my house. What a game! And guess what? We are having Dallas Cowboy Sunday at church this weekend! Everyone dresses up in their favorite sports team attire, and we just all have a blast praising God and worshiping together. It is just a fun outreach to bring people to church, and then we share the good news with them. It was such an answer to prayer that the Cowboys won this week.

If anyone needs me, I will be around buried in boxes.

Yay for ya'll, Susie! I can just imagine how excited all of you are. I'm happy for you.

It's is beyond okay that you're taking some time off from homeschooling. That is the beauty of teaching at home. You can absolutely set your own schedule. I am sure the kids will learn a lot about life during this move, also. :0)

Wish I could be there for church. It sounds like fun. Have a good time.

P.S. Chappy is home, so we are happier, too! Like you are saying, things are not exactly like we want them, but they're getting better.

Praying your house will sell very soon.

HIP! HIP! HOORAY!! I am SO EXCITED that you are moving. It is more than time that you and Skip are back in the same house together. I know you are all thrilled.

And, yes, that was quite a game last night!! I'm not really a fan of either the Cowboys (don't hurt me...I'm not from Texas) or Buffalo, but the game was great. And then, at the last second when the Buffalo coach called that time out right before the Dallas guy kicked but the play wasn't stopped until AFTER he made it - well, let's just say that I was MAJORLY cheering for Dallas after that. That kicker deserves some major attention. It was truly a great game, and I am very happy that Dallas won!!

Oh, YAY Susie!

As a 12-year home school veteran, it is my pleasure to bestow to you the honorable "Get Out of Home School While You're Moving Pass".

This entitles you to enlist your children's help, take time off to unpack at the new place, and find your sanity before you begin school again. Fine print: Please note your school year may continue through mid-July, but that's okay. You won't kill each other, and that's a bonus!

Susie~

I rarely comment, though you are part of my Google reader, and I read you every day.

I've been praying for your move, and I am so glad you're finally going to be a family together again full time.

I am the homeschooling mom you requested.

I've been doing it for three years, and I still waffle on the whole "doing school" thing.

Yet, remember . . . moving is an educational experience in and of itself.

Estimate how many boxes you'll need to move. Estimate and then keep track of the minutes, hours, etc. that the move takes.

Give a prize to the child who comes the closest.

Have your older children make a list of the people you need to get in touch with when you get settled, then bake cookies and take them to "re-introduce" yourselves : )

This is only after you get settled, of course. Cooking and baking are huge math lessons, and it also teaches them to serve others.

Read in the Bible about people who had to relocate -- Moses, Abraham, Jesus, etc. and what they did before and after they moved from place to place.

Go back through photo albums as you pack and recount your own history, as well as reminding them of the history of the place of your return -- Victoria.

Those are just a few ideas of how to educate while moving. It's not really ever a "holiday," because your children are always learning whenever they are with you. Moving is just another avenue of education. Better than a textbook, I'd say. You'll continue to be in my prayers.

Halleluliah!!! I will continue to pray the house sells, but I am so glad you are all going to be together. That is as it should be. I'm so happy for you Susie. My d-i-l who is a veteran Homeschool Mom would just tell you to take a break and then make it up later in the year. It will all work out.
Happy packing!!

Oh Susie I am so glad that you are going to be reunited as a family. Praise God for that blessing. I know this has been difficult on all of you. Praying for you as you pack and move.

I can feel your smile right through the screen! I'm so happy for you! Lots to do but it will go by quickly and you'll be in your new place.

I don't homeschool, Susie, but I would think that that is one of the great things about homeschooling. You can make up the time someplace else like go a few extra days longer in the summer or somthing like that. Besides isn't there a course called packing up house 101? ;v)
