First of all, welcome to my new home! The fall wreath is on the door, my coffee is hot and fresh, and my family IS together. Praise God!!! Not to mention, as I was walking the trash out this morning, I felt the very first cold front of the year blow in all around me. Oh, it felt so wonderful! I wanted to do cartwheels in the front yard, but I saw Mr. Seuss across the street and I thought better save that for another day. Isn't that cute that I have the Seuss family for neighbors? Neither he or his wife are doctors, but he does have a relative that is one.
Friday was crazy. That is about all I can say to describe the actual move day. From all our stuff not fitting into the moving truck, to the movers getting lost on route, to walking in to a very disasterous sight of carpet people and a cleaning crew. I left the sight to go get everyone Chick-Fil-A and I had a complete emotional breakdown with my sister on the phone. I now realize it had so much to do with all that had led up to the move. I was leaving close friends who had become my family, I was taking quite a step down in living, you know the theme song of the Jefferson's kept playing in my head(only the opposite), and I could only see the mess and overwhelming job I had ahead of me. Not to mention we found out that one of our close friends we hadn't seen in about a year had suddenly died from a heart attack leaving a wife and two young girls behind. In addition to all of this, I was having PMS. I wish I had a recording of the conversation because I sounded like a spoiled rotten child and I think I actually said something like, "I don't even have a garden tub, and there are stains on the bathtub, and my furniture doesn't even fit." My sister just let me cry and vent probably got off the phone and died laughing. I would have. Anyway, after spending my kid's college tuition on Chick-Fil-A for everyone and their dog, I drove home and just prayed. I prayed that God would let me see what a blessing this house was going to be, and that I would fall in love with it. The second I walked back in the door, I noticed a totally different perspective. The kids were exploring and running to me with excited voices. Ashley was so excited about the sunroom which we are turning into her teenage haven. I also noticed that I have a skylight in my bathroom, and the master is the coolest(as in temp.) room in the house. Awesome! That has never been the case for us before.
Saturday was spent putting in shelf paper, unpacking boxes, hanging sheets on the windows until the new blinds get installed, and enjoying a home cooked meal from one of the ladies in my new bible study. Thanks Jennifer! (Not that a single one of these ladies in my study know I have a blog or much less do they use a computer.) I'm not kidding. Only 5 out of my 12 ladies use an email.
Sunday began with the most incredible service I've been to at church so far. Music was amazing, and our friend Erik had his first weekend at Parkway. He is the sound, tech, lights, volunteer guru, Skip's right arm EVERYTHING production man. It was only his first week and the stage, and lights made me think I was somewhere else. Great job Erik! The best part of Erik coming on staff at Parkway is that his wife Laura is one of my bestest girlfriends. She isn't coming for a while because she has to sell the house and finish school this semester. I can't wait to have them here! Right after church, Skip and I did a mad rush back to Corpus so that he could do music for our friend's memorial service. I cried for a solid hour listening to the words of "I Will Walk By Faith", "You Never Let Go", and "I Can Only Imagine", and Bil spoke so beautifully about our friend who passed. He spoke directly to those precious girls who lost their daddy, and told them that he just went to sleep and woke up in the arms of Jesus. It was so sad. A happy note was seeing all the beautiful friends from Bay Area again. Many I had not seen in six months.
Thanks again for all the prayers and encouragement. I do not have an email to respond to you at this moment, but I look forward to talking to all of you soon. God bless and have a wonderful week!

Congratulations, Susie!
I am so very sorry about your friend.
Don't work too hard getting everything in order. It sounds like your children are going to like it just fine. That's a blessing.
How exciting for your new house, Susie. It looks lovely from the outside and I'm sure in no time at all you will make it a home.
So sorry to hear of your friend. {{Hugs}}
Glad you are finally there.
I hope you'll be sure and read my blog about our Prodigal Son returning home and to GOD and you'll understand about my comment about praying and standing in faith for years :o)
Susan
There's nothing like moving to make one go absolutely around the bend. I think we've all been there Susie - at least once.
It looks like a sweet house. Once you have made it home, I'm sure things will look a lot better. I know the Lord provided this place for your family and He only does good things!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Life can be so hard sometimes.
Take time for a bit of rest and enjoy being together. I'm so happy for you.
Rejoicing and praising God with you that you are all together under the same roof once again!!
Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend!
Oh Susie,
I totally understand coming unglued while moving. As a matter of fact, I had a very similar experience, so don't beat up on yourself too badly.
And HURRAY! You are ALL together again, and apparently there is a Chick-fil-A within driving distance. (Bonus!) Pretty soon Ashley can get a job there, and you'll get to eat for 50% off like us! LOL
Also - so sorry to hear the sad news about your friend. The Lord bless you and them with His comfort and peace.
Enjoy that new house, girl!
Oh Susie you are all together!!! Praying for you and may you settle in quickly.
What a beautiful home! I am so happy your church services are so very blessed by Jesus. That must be such a comfort.
I am so sorry about the loss of you friend.
Keeping you in my prayers.
Oh, I have a little award for you so stop on by.
Hugs!
I'm so glad you are all together as a family again, but I know how stressful the actual move can be. I hope you settle in very soon and it feels like home.
I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. It's always so difficult when young children are left.
I hope you are able to relax a little this week and enjoy your knew surroundings.
oh, girl, you have me crying all over again. I know I've seen you so many times , but seeing you and your husband together on Sunday just made it all real that you were gone. And having Skip sing, oh my, I was a blubbering fool.
Our friendship has meant the world to me in so many ways these past few months. I know, I truely know that even thought we will be 90 miles away we still feel as close at we were when you were here. A new start. Make it cozy and warm. I know you will. I can't wait to see you in Victoria. I have to come up there very soon.
love you tons.
I'm so happy you all are all under one roof! I'm sure the adjustment will be just that an adjustment!Being together is the most important part!
BTW - I nominated you for an award at my blog hop on over and check it out!
Be blessed ~
Denise

Your house is precious and you already having it look so " Susie". I bet you are just so happy to all be together. We are happy for you guys.
I'm so sorry about your friend, Susie. It sounds like it was a beautiful service but I feel so bad for his little girls.
What a sweet house. I was so hoping I'd come over here and find out you and Skip and the kids were all finally reunited under one roof. Your new house sounds lovely to me. Skylights in the bathroom? I'm afraid I'd be looking up every time I, uhm, sat down in that room, just to make sure no one was on the roof. LOL
I'm so sorry I'm just now checking in! What a crazy time you're having (or were having by the time you get this!)
What encouragement can I give that you aren't already receiving. but I am still praying for you guys.
Call me with your new number when you get one and get settled. I want to know how the diet you're on that I haven't even started yet is going. =)
