What Are You Looking Forward To?

I get in ruts. I especially get in ruts when I don't have something to look forward to in the future. My blogging takes a backseat, I spend way too much time on Facebook and my house easily becomes a disaster area. Distracting behaviour keeps me from the important things in life, and I usually say enough is enough, and get serious again.

I love a New Year because it gets me motivated, even though it is sometimes short lived. It gets me focused on new goals and new things to look forward to accomplishing. So far, these are the things that will hopefully get this girl going and motivated to be all that I can be this year.

*Losing 20lbs. (I've already lost 3 over Christmas break) and eating healthier

*Starting the Beth Moore bible study Esther in my home (anyone up for it?)

*Planning a vacation to Estes Park, Colorado in June staying at the YMCA of the Rockies (our family's favorite place in the world)

*Encouraging women to connect, feel hope and love God with all their heart.

*Write more in my free time

*Begin walking again

Simple things, but could make all the difference in getting out of the winter rut. What are you looking forward to this year?

I love the beginning of a new year.....always have and always look forward to it with anticipation of what God is going to do in my life, and those around me.

I'm just in the beginning stages of "meditating" on what I feel the Lord wants me to do.... For sure come January 2 I am getting back to my ticker and weight loss, that got interupted with my hubby's surgery and then the holidays, and our walking 30 minutes a day.....but I know God wants me to do some fasting and that is the area I am praying & meditating on.

Yea!!!! I'm doing Esther too in my home. Yea!!! I'm not sure what home but I'm doing it. Mine will be on Thursdays morning.

I plan on doing some --- lots of writing as well.
2009 is going to ROCK for us!!!

I may join you if the universe aligns itself to allow it. Let me know what time.

I'm committing myself to finding the joy in the everyday.

Also responding to my children how I want them to respond to me. I often don't look at them when they are talking because I can multitask, yet it annoys me when I don't have their full attention. And acknowledging their request and give them a better answer than 'in a minute' if I am unable to leave my current task....and we wonder where they get it...

I actually wrote out my wish list for 2009. It always starts the same way, but this year I really want to stick to it.

These were my Top 5:

Lose weight (would love to lose 20 lbs. by Easter)
Exercise at least 5 days/week
Spend only 1 hour/day on the computer (except for business)
Make time for my husband everyday
Read the Bible every day

Maybe we can keep each other motivated!

I so wish I was there for the Bible Study. I'd be all over it. And, I have started the cleanse...it's day two. Can I just say I miss my friend Coke Zero. But this will be the jump start I need.

Congrats on losing 3 pounds- saying 'no' to goodies around Christmas is a big deal! I'm proud of you! Wish we could work out together. Actually, if you ever want to work out in the evenings, let me know. We can use the clinic anytime, just crank up the music, and have at it!

I can't wait to start losing weight again! There's just something about pregnancy that makes the scale go up and up! I think you're going to have an AWESOME 2009!

Hi, Susie! Congratulations on losing 3 lbs.! If you can do that during the hardest time of the year, then I have no doubt you will succeed on the rest of your weightloss goals!

I know exactly what you mean about spending too much time on the computer and letting the house slide. I'm determined to do better on that as well.

I'd love to do the Esther study. Don't have the materials, though, but I might check the library. It looks wonderful, and I am anxious to hear how it impacts your life.

I have high hopes for the new year. Though there may be struggles, I still believe that those that are sold out to Jesus will have the strength they need to make it through. I look forward to another year of friendship with you!!! :0)

The Esther study sounds so interesting. I definitely would like to start walking this year and I'm making it a goal to choose more healthy foods through out the day.

Happy New Year!
