I could have added a lot of extra ingredients and seasonings, but then the kids probably wouldn't have eaten it.
Not only did the kids eat it, they asked for seconds. We also had spanish rice and beans. And I can't forget, chips and salsa. Of course, I needed a tums before bed, but it was so worth it.
In addition to my new cooking skills, I can also take apart the pipes under my sink and find a clog. It took me over an hour Monday morning, but I did it. The culprit was a popsicle stick and some apple peelings that someone put down the disposal after he made me a cobbler on Sunday. It had made a little dam in the curved section of the do-a-ma-thingy. Yah, I'm so plumber savy.
Skip, you better find us a home quick or I might even learn to edge the yard.

First of all, the fact that you love Skip so much DESPITE him living in South Texas and NOT LIKING MEXICAN FOOD FOR PETE SAKE, you have the whole forgiveness/mercy thing down girl! Is he CRAZY?!!! Someday if we ever get the privilege to meet in person, I'll buy you a big of plate of fajitas and we can eat his share too! :0) And kudos on the plumbing fix. Plumbing is about the only home improvement area where a repairman is required in our home. Between the two of us, we have the rest covered, but plumbing is hard! Good job!!
I love the independence humor in you!!! Love it!!! Attempting to make mexcian food. My hat goes off to you. When Hubby is away it is all about fast and quick. Thought tonight I'm pulling out all the stops. Chicken fried steak, mash pototes and green beans. I need a little comfort food. I know all about plumbing and tools and all that. It what makes us strong and it turns our husbands on. Watch out!
Hi Susie,
The new recipe you made looks wonderful - I suspect you're a better cook than you think you are. :-)
I've been away a while and am completely confused. Surprise, surprise. LOL Moving back to Corpus? I can tell you're stressed about the housing situation right now. I read all the posts on this page...if I had more time right now, I'd go deeper into your archives to figure out what's going on.
Meantime, you've said you need prayer and that I can do, whether I completely understand what's going on or not.
Love Mexican, too. That can you showed is a regular staple at our house, as is the green sauce they make. I do that one with canned chicken, cheese and top it with sour cream . . . voila! Another yummy meal my family devours.
I was eating Mexican last night at one of our local dives. I way overate, too, and ended the night with a chocolate Tums . . . why do I do that to myself?
I'm so proud of you for hanging in there while Skip is gone. You impress me, dear Susie.
Have a blessed day, friend!
Susie - YOU WON!!!
Sandy :)
