Procrastination is My Middle Name

I'm not sure how this name change came about for me, but it has definitely become a way of life over the last couple of years. Do you struggle with putting things off? I don't like it and I'm really ready to do something about it. I mean as soon as I type this post, check the bazillion blogs I read, and call a few friends to see what they have been up to this summer. Oops, see that's how easy it is for me to get off task. Here are the things I am going to attempt to accomplish this week:

* Do two math lessons with Seth and Annie. We still have to finish a few more chapters.
* Finish the registration papers for all three kids for their schools.
* Have some fun with my niece and nephew who are staying with us for 3 days.
* Dust furniture and clean mirrors- sounds easy, but I loathe doing both.
* Find some time to go through some of my writings before the She Speaks Conference
* Pray (this should be number one) a lot!
* Give myself a pedicure.
* Call to set up dentist and doctor visits.

The list could go on and on, but this is what I'm shooting for this week. Is there something you are putting off? I'd love to hear what it is and how you are making sure to get it done.

Happened upon your blog a few days ago and have been reading it ever since.

As far as putting things off...can't say I do that!

Right now...I'm working very hard at preparing for a GARAGE/ESTATE sale that will be held here in 12 days. I used to sell on eBAY - ALOT - and quit...and now I have oodles of items to sell and get out of my house and garage!!!

So far, the garage is cleaned up and ready to go. I've finished going through the Den, our Bedroom, Living Room, Office (just today) and have the Kitchen, Dining Room and Pantry to do. As I go, I'm sorting and trying to price things. About 50% of my items I've priced so far!! Yeah!!

When this sale is finished, I have 4 more rooms in our new(er) house left to paint. Just finished staining the deck on our house over Memorial Day weekend...and planted our garden.

Phew......I'm tired listing all of this!!! LOL!!!

Have fun getting to check off all the items on your TO DO list!

~Blessings,
Jan

I thought that Procrastination was my first and middle name! Glad to hear I have company! We're looking into Sylvan for Kayleigh this summer. She really had a tough time with her grades last year. Anyhoo, I have made the inital call now I need to call and make an appointment for her to be evaluated. Just today I said, I'll do that tomorrow. UGH! I also need to clean my bathroom and bedroom and there is ALWAYS ironing to do!

Have fun accopmlishing some things this week, friend!

Oh Susie - I'm right there with you. I used to carry a little poem around in my wallet in high school. It went something like this:
Procrastination is my sin
It brings me endless sorrow.
I really must stop doing it.
In fact I will - tomorrow!

I really do try not to do it, but I am so easily side-tracked :-)

Thanks for your visit and comment on our Blog! I happen to be in total agreement with you as far as leaving a child home alone, while mom is away at work!!!

Susie, add this post and your post for today (Tuesday) together, and you get what is on my mind. I am mentally preparing myself to stop procrastinating and become a morning person, two things I have never, ever been able to accomplish. That is why I am having to MENTALLY PREPARE! :0)

I will probably also mourn the days when my 3 little ones and I got to in as late as we could. It is SAD that this is a passing era. But when school starts in the fall, things - they will be a-changin' 'round here.

Oh, and I am beyond jealous that you are getting to go to the She Speaks conference. That can only mean one thing. You have to share, share, share all the fun stuff that you get to do and learn!

procrastination my be your middle name but it's my first middle & last.... i want to blame this on being an artist... but honestly... i just put things off... waiting for perfect conditions... which i know (the verse...)they never come... so i don't accomplish what i intend... thanks for inspiring me to be more diligent and plan.... and then... follow through
